See you at the IX Health Challenges Congress  Today marks the beginning of the IX Health Challenges Congress with a very interesting program aligned with the activities of @Acellmed. We’ve already had a fascinating session dedicated to ophthalmology: “Ophthalmology: Are We Succeeding in Preventing Vision Loss?”, with the participation of eminent experts, including Deputy Minister of Health Mr. Maciej Miłkowski, National Consultant in Ophthalmology Prof. Marek Rękas, Vice-Rector for Development and Technology Transfer of the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice – Head of the Department and Clinical Division of Ophthalmology SUM in Katowice Prof. Edward Wylęgała.

Ahead of us are important sessions dedicated to public health, oncology, immunology-virology, rare diseases, biologic and biosimilar drugs, as well as a debate on Start-Up-Med.

CORNEA 2024 – XVI International Symposium on Advances in Corneal Disease Diagnosis and Therapy

From February 29th to March 2nd, 2024, one of the most significant scientific events in Europe dedicated to innovative methods of diagnosing and treating corneal disorders – CORNEA 2024 – took place in Katowice.

During the inaugural session on February 29th, 2024, Professor Dariusz Dobrowolski delivered a lecture entitled: “Bio-printing method as a potential innovative approach to obtain a fibrin scaffold for corneal regeneration.”

We share our experience!

During the 5th “Health of Poles” Congress, held on November 13-14 this year in Kajetany, three projects involving Acellmed were presented:

– Oncology – “Personalized, liposomal therapy for acute myeloid leukemia (AML) based on small inhibitory RNAs” (RPO 1.2 WSL)

– Antiviral – “Antiviral platform for SARS group viruses (including SARS-CoV-2), MERS, and INFLUENZA, targeting virus binding to the ACE2 receptor” (ABM grant)

– Ophthalmic – “Biodegradable dressing for corneal reconstruction with limbal stem cells, prepared within the framework of autologous transplantation, using bio-printing and 3D printing” (RPO 1.2 WSL)
